I don’t know about it. Not a lot of cod in North Carolina fishing’ waters. We got crappies. These are best pan fish.

Here you go: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ScrodYour pic looks good - why does it have such an unattractive name? They renamed two species over here recently to try to boost sales - megrim sole became Cornish sole and spider crab became Cornish king crab. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cornwall-55996938Previous renamings have been: Pilchards > Cornish sardines Slimehead > Orange roughy Rat-tail > Grenadier Witch > Torbay sole Patagonian toothfish > Chilean sea bass Rockfish > Pacific red snapper Dogfish> Rock salmon www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-483457/Pilchards-slimehead-fish-renamed-boost-popularity.htmlPresumably the reverse would work as well so if we want to get people off red meat, we should rename beef to chokemeat or something.

Like I say, I don’t. This is the first time I heard the word “scrod.” If you think “school of cod,” then crunch it down, it kinda makes sense. I live about 300 miles from the Outer Banks, so….

That is really really interesting, thanks for posting that. The landscape in that video looks amazingly like where I live. Sad that this dialect is nearly extinct and will probably go extinct. Too bad nobody, far as we know, is trying to save it. That's real diversity, btw.
