if they are any good they are booked up until the Rapture. I want a floor leveled. There is a bloke we have used for ages and he is diamond. But because he is so good he is never available. Plus he is cracking on a bit. He can get down and do the job ok, but getting back on his feet is a bit of an adventure. This kerfuffle in the Ukraine has been a bit of a let down. I was rather hoping that we would get a fresh flood of desperate East European refugees, ready to break their backs for sod all paid late and available tomorrow. But no such luck.
I blame everyone else

Tell me about it. I had some work done last September, but I waited many months because they were booked up. I had some more done in March by a guy who had a weeks backlog. But his crew sucked ass and I had to get them back out to correct their very obvious mistakes. Just yesterday I had my driveway widened by 8 ft, and the guy did excellent but I waited 9 weeks. My two cents: wait for good work if you can afford to.

If I hired some dipshit off the streets of London my drive would probably be cracked and have weeds growing through it in a year or two. I'd pay him $3 Gs and all I'd get is a temp drive and a story that would forever make me wince at the sight of cocktail umbrellas.

I enjoy a bit of DIY, but by the time I have got all the tools and materials together, seen a couple of Youtube videos and packed Herself off to her family because, love her as I do, there is only so much good advice a man can take, it seems better to wait on the proffessionals.
