People don't like it they don't have to go. We are famous for eclectic theatre productions. Shakespeare alone has been set in myriad time periods and styles. Will no doubt get people who have never been to the theatre in their lives whining though and the Daily Mail will explode.

This is one of those "two people disagree on twitter" stories so it's "uproar".

This is one of those "two people disagree on twitter" stories so it's "uproar". How modern media works though isn't it? Twat says something stupid, Daily Mail or whomever pick up the story, that spreads it further and then they can report on the "huge uproar" that they started.

I think that sometimes the uproar is just two people in their office disagreeing.

At first I thought this would be a small production being held in a local arts club but it’s at the Globe Theatre so I hope it’s better than this…
The men are all fighting, again. An endless war. From nowhere, an unexpected leader emerges. Young, poor and about to spark a revolution. This is Joan. Rebelling against the world's expectations, questioning the gender binary, Joan finds their power and their belief spreads like fire.
Because that reads like a teenage gender warrior’s wet dream.

Considering God does not exist, Joan of Arc was batshit crazy. She's mostly myth anyway.

Will no doubt get people who have never been to the theatre in their lives whining though and the Daily Mail will explode. I think the non-traditional casting the UK is using in most of it's commercial TV and movie productions is disingenuously insulting and racist. And it is not against the white actor losing out to the traditionally white roles as in shows like Bridgerton either. I've nothing against the show per se, I totally support artist freedom, but young black people might see these historical dramas and think that black people were a part of British society and treated as equals. And that is so very not true. Many of the folks living in those fine 19th century Bridgerton-like houses made their fortunes off African slave trafficking and labor. There were a few non-white people in Brit society at the time, but even they were not wholly accepted.

I saw the glory in her eye
Myself, I long for love and light
But must it come so cruel, and oh so bright?"

So they're saying Joan of Arc was a biological male who considered "themselves" non-binary?
Why, because women can't accomplish great things?
Or was she a biological woman who rejected her gender?
Feminists won't like this.
