This song is just fucking awesome.
At about 2:20 you'll recognise the song from something else (something modern) and then your brain will say... new music is so shit.

Nope, not at all. I have heard this since my parents moaned about my playing Dr Feelgood full blast in '74 or thereabouts. Their parents no doubt told them that Sinatra was shite as well. The real problem is that as folk get older, they tend to be less adventurous and stay within a small circle of music that they have grown up with and stop going to gigs and seeing or listening to new bands. There's wonderful new stuff around, you just have to put in the effort to find it. There's some great Psych pop/rock bands about at the moment like Cosmic Strip and SZA'S debut album was a thing of wonder last year. My favourite bands mainly come from the 1960's and 70's because that was my era, but there really is more great music around than ever due to home recording techniques, just get out there and find it.

I think you missed my point. Did you recognise the part that was sampled by Eminem? My point was sampling (or just plain ripping off) is commonplace now, often without people even realising it. The song above is original. And sounds it.

Most classic rock bands ripped off old classical tunes or old blues songs as well, ripping off is hardly something new, hell, Page/Plant made millions from it. Even the people they ripped off, ripped off others before them, goes back to the root of most folk music for instance.

They ripped off melodies, rather than just taking an actual sample and reworking it. Samples being the thing I dislike (lack of originality). The Stones were pretty scummy about The Verve sampling an orchestral reworking of one of their songs which in turn was a rip-off of another song.

They got all the royalties for it as well, not just a part.
