Nothing is worse than an endlessly repeated crappy video when its quoted ad nauseam. Any way to disable that garbage?

Nope.
I could write a plugin for it but I probably won't.

There's no simple option for that in the config.
You'd need to get into the programming of the icon bar, and that's not something I can do.

Is the request to disable videos or the Gifs. A video won't play unless you play it. The short gifs that are posted are continuous. I think you are right Monkeys that most people like using the Gifs.

I think (gut feel) that most people like the convenience. Most likely. I was thinking more of a button that replaces the video or image that you could click to show or hide it underneath and an option to enable or disable it. A quick check indicates it wouldn't work on mobile devices, though, so that's a shame. But yeah, most people probably don't mind.

Thanks anyway for thinking about doing it, admins.

Unless I'm going blind, I was surprised there wasn't some kind of link I could back space over so I wouldn't have the image every time I quoted someone who included some picture, video etc

Unless I'm going blind, I was surprised there wasn't some kind of link I could back space over so I wouldn't have the image every time I quoted someone who included some picture, video etc But you can still delete the video from a quote by backspacing. See how your cursor in normal text is a flashing black bar the height of 1 line? When you are up against the video, it will also be a flashing black bar, but it is the height of the video. Then hit backspace. Video gone. Alternately, go to the BBCode tab in the bottom left and you'll see the URL in there that you can delete. Here's a video of one of your favourites. Hit quote and try deleting it from your reply:
