Did he walk or was he pushed? finishing so far behind Barca couldn't have been good even though they won in Europe.

Two and half seasons in charge, one league title, three champions leagues in a row.
I'm pretty sure it was his decision.

I'd like to think so but these Spanish club owners can be even worse than ours.

Managing Real Madrid to success is a bit like getting laid in a brothel
That being said, winning the Spanish league is hard (Madrid have only actually done it twice this decade) and winning three champions leagues in a row in the modern era is something most of us never thought would ever happen. So you have to say Zidane has actually been pretty damn impressive.

Yeah, I've been surprised, his 3 years with the B team must have taught him a lot, good to see he was prepared to learn his trade before getting a managers job. Players given managers jobs with no experience make no sense to me, the idea that being a good player makes you a good manager is ridiculous, Lampard at Derby? again why? where's the reasoning? Jody Morris as No.2 has some youth coaching experience at Chelsea but I really don't understand it. Apparently he was one of 20 candidates (real managers at a guess) so why would the board see fit to give him the job? Maybe promised "contacts" are more important these days and we'll see a load of Chelsea loanees at Derby next season.
