to heat his private pool. www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/mar/12/rishi-sunak-has-electricity-grid-upgraded-to-heat-his-private-poolRishi Sunak’s new private heated swimming pool uses so much energy that the local electricity network had to be upgraded to meet its power demands, the Guardian has been told. While many Britons are facing increased electricity bills – and are trying to limit their energy usage – extra equipment was recently installed in a remote part of North Yorkshire to provide extra capacity from the National Grid to the prime minister’s constituency home. This followed Sunak’s construction of a new heated swimming pool, gym and tennis court in the grounds of the manor house he occupies at weekends. Engineers had to install a substantial amount of equipment and a new connection to the National Grid that runs across open fields. ......still, we're all in this together.

Are you really suggesting that a non-successful person should be running the place? What use are they possibly going to be?

Are you really suggesting that a non-successful person should be running the place? What use are they possibly going to be? Not suggesting anything, just posting a current story that was referenced in PMQ's, and suggesting that the timing is not a good "optic" given the constant claims that we are all in the current cost of living crisis together. Other voters in the North Yorkshire "red wall" constituencies who may be struggling to heat their own swimming pools will decide themselves come the next election.

Has he ever made that claim? I've never heard him say that. In which case judging him by some other person's claim seems a bit desperate in story manufacturing.

Pretty sure as Chancellor he made out that we all had to suffer to get through the bad times of Covid and the economy, but as I say, the public will decide. Was interesting to see Biden make a point about Sunak having a house in California and asking for an invite. He likes to pretend a loyalty to England, but everyone knows he will head back to the States in a few years. He only relinquished his "green card" when he became Chancellor and it looked dodgy. Bet he has another swimming pool there, probably a bit warmer than Yorkshire though.

So you have attributed a quote form Cameron to him and now you are attributing an action from Hunt to him. Did he invade Poland as well?

Most of the budget decisions were switched to No.10 a few budgets back, it's how Sunak became Chancellor, your memory must be going. Sajid Javid quit over it, No. 11 does not have autonomy anymore.

Ah, so the role is redundant. Got it. And the Cameron quote..?
