NZ bossing the game 179 ahead with 9 wickets in hand. Rehan Ahmed is skidding Pakistan into trouble over there. The home team 7 down and still 80 behind, owing everything to Shakeel's 72no.

Piss poor from England’s batsmen and bowlers.

Piss poor from England’s batsmen and bowlers. Stokes gives away too many singles with the spinners bowling. I know he's doing it to stop the big hits and keep the run rate down but he's just allowing death by a thousand cuts. Leach is a smart spinner, Bashir's height is troubling and Rehan gets a lot of skid. He should trust them more with catchers. As for the batting: Duckett looks uncomfortable against spin but often finds a way. Pope had one big innings in India but has been rubbish otherwise. Crawley really struggles. England are unlucky in some ways that Pakistan have finally found two spinners who can get it done in home conditions rather than Yasir Shah who'd forgotten what a wicket looked like long before he was dropped.

Pakistan run through England meekly and get a badly needed home series win. Those spin bowlers on those pitches would run through most, if not all, SENA line ups. Hopefully that tells them something rather than constantly preparing roads which they collapse on any way.
In India the NZ series win is on. India 4-141, still needing 218 to win. We're either going to see Kohli's greatest innings or a NZ series win in India after 36 years which would also be the first loss at home for India in well over a decade.

Santner gets Kohli and Sarfaraz to give him 12 for the match. Pray to any dead catholic martyr and they'll instantly qualify for beatification if India win from here. 6 down and 194 still needed.

NZ complete the win, which means there are 5 teams who can a)play in the WTC Final and b) more or less have their fate in their own hands. There's even an outside chance, if Australia and India draw 1-all especially but 2-all as well, that both India and Australia could miss. Big series from here are the BGT and South Africa v Sri Lanka, with NZ v England and Sri Lanka v Australia coming into play depending on results.

The last two ODIs live on the BBC this year were both complete wash outs .. no play possible!
Wonder if that affected their decision not to renew the deal.

Hope you're not imputing that immigrants are vermin. Sir Keir Starmer may have you arrested!

In the big "bat off" for a test spot in the Australia A game Konstas and Bancroft both collected globes with Harris managing 17. To be fair 14 wickets fell for 185 runs with only two players (one for each team) reaching 30 so may not have been the easiest pitch to play for a test place on.
