As you know, I have adopted a tolerant approach to free speech.
As a general principle, I do not believe in authorities legislating what we can and cannot say.
You may well be in favour of banning certain types of speech, but who is to say the winds will not change and things you want to speak about become banned? What will you do then when you lose your voice to tyranny?
In other words, there is serious value in free speech, even if sometimes it means hearing things you don't like. I believe that some people do not understand this value.
So, I am considering an experiment period where we try something new. There seems to be a general tide of opinion to delete posts which are or appear to be racist. Fair enough.
However, this government also thinks posts which are race baiting (false or unfounded accusations of racism) are equally repellent and should also be banned.
Of course, any criticism of this government's policy would also be met with deletion.
Your thoughts, as always, are appreciated (we are, after all, still a free democracy).

I just recently started posting here on a daily basis and I am not offended by much of anything here, possibly because I don’t have a degree in politics.
