Of those, I think I'd choose SUBMARINE BASE. Or maybe ISLAND OF LOST MEN. It's hard to know. I liked him in so many things, but probably remember him best, I think, in THE GAY DIVORCEE. What a character he was, back in the day.

Eric Blore's beautiful death scene in 1943's Holy Matrimony. Not really a spoiler, as it serves as the point upon which the entire mistaken-identity plot hangs. It's a delightful romp in which the chemistry between Monty Woolley and the estimable Gracie Fields (below with Woolley) is irresistible, and with the great Laird Cregar at his most elegantly insinuating, along with a galaxy of beloved character players (Alan Mowbray, Una O'Connor, Franklin Pangborn, George Zucco and Melville Cooper, to name just some), any first-time viewer is in for a treat.

Eric Blore's beautiful death scene in 1943's Holy Matrimony. Yet another I haven't seen. How can it be? I see that Nunnelly Johnson received an Oscar nomination for writing it. Great cast, too. Hope to be able to watch it one of these days. Thanks for the introduction.
