Don't believe everything the police are saying. They are very often conflating the price of processed and raw drugs for them to appear to have made far bigger busts than they have. Bear in mind, I'm not saying that's what happened here, but the possibility is there. Yes it is probably 2 tons. But is it processed or raw? The difference is huge. I learned that listening to a book on the economics of drugs (Narconomics: How to Run a Drug Cartel by Tom Wainwright, highly recommended).
For example a Mexico City marijuana haul which US newspapers reported was worth over half-a-billion US dollars. The actual value, was probably more like US$10 million. That is a different drug, though.

I wonder if whoever found the drugs gets to keep them. Was it flotsam or jetsam? There are maritime laws that have to be followed!
