Did he beat her up? Because that wouldn’t be cool. Fuck her well-being. Oh I just meant if he was beating on her. It doesn’t look like he did that though after Carl posted the video.

Here's the tweet from the news: With comments. I didn't see any racism ones, but didn't really did much. Theft is a $100billion dollar per year problem in the U.S. Stopping theft is not racism. I remember in early covid Mr. Z and I were in the booze dept of walgreens buying scotch for an old friend who couldn't safely shop. It was the first day masks were required. A man (dressed as many in gangs do) walked in (maskless) and picked up three large bottles of some big brown booze and walked right out. No one blinked. No one stopped him. Staff watched him go. I remember remarking: how soon will robbers take advantage of masks. And of course that came. But he didn't seem to care and staff didn't try to stop him. Should a $10 employee put his life at risk for his employer's booze cost? I guess he should maybe want to. If the intervener were black what would have happened. How soon will stores BAN masks? Staff aren’t supposed to stop thieves because they may have guns. I worked at SunCoast video in high school for a summer and we would call security if a thief walked out.

It went from return anytime to one had to have that receipt & only had a window of time. Yet when I use that logic on ABBEY, that bad gun owners are making the "responsible"(as he calls it) look bad, he doesn't see the similarity. It is always the worst case scenario people who screw it up for everyone.
What logic? A few bad apples ruin it for everyone else?
Get rid of the bad apples!
What sense does it make for everyone to suffer because a few can't handle responsibility?

Their ridiculous replies have hundreds/thousands of likes. This is a mindset we saw for months on end in 2020. You wanna talk about racism? Let's have a REAL conversation about racism: black people are RACIST. Particularly uneducated ones that live in cities. They feel they are owed something and support looting and theft. They're entitled to it. There have been countless videos of them doing this in cities across the country the last 3 years. And if you don't agree with them? You're a racist! We've created a cult mentality.

Just a good samaritan. Didn’t hit her hard enough. "Let her go."

One of the Philly mayoral candidates wants to ban masks. I forget who, but saw it in a recent debate. This is a growing problem in cities. Banning masks is inevitable.
I'm so tired of people.

I read the tweet before watching the video. Based on the replies on Twitter, I had mistakenly assumed that the woman was shoplifting some minor low-value item, in which case the actions of the man would have been questionable to say the least. But that’s not at all what happened – the women (there were two of them) were brazenly committing daylight robbery! Good for him that he stopped one of them at least.
States are shooting themselves on the foot with these policies of tolerating shoplifting. As if brick stores weren’t having a hard enough time competing against online retailers, now they have to deal with this.
This is the Law of Unintended Consequences kicking in. It must have seemed like a good idea at the time to stop prosecuting shoplifting – is it really worth spending resources and the court’s time on someone who shoplifted shaving cream, not to mention saddling that someone with a record that is going to make their life much more difficult? I guess they didn’t think that over time that policy, well-intentioned as it may have been, would lead to people realising that they really don’t have to pay for anything, they can just take it.

It shook this country to it's core and we are still dealing with the fallout. "It's just property" was the war cry for months of violence.
And the same ghetto trash - and people who enable them - will cry racism years from now when there are no businesses left in their dump of a neighborhood.

I'm pretty tired of people too. I also saw SEVERAL people claim there was no shoplifting and the women had receipts. Not sure there's evidence to support that claim.

Did he beat her up? Because that wouldn’t be cool. When my husband worked at Vons, they told staff not to stop shoplifters because they weren't trained to do it. They preferred taking the loss to getting sued for injuring the shoplifter or for false arrest because the employee doing the stop didn't follow all the proper procedures. I'm thinking this gal that got tackled could find an attorney that would file a case against TJMaxx over this. That whole deep pockets thing where...I was up for a jury where the guy was suing for an accident that occurred at a particular intersection so he was suing the driver, but also the city claiming the intersection was dangerous due to how the city set it up. The driver who hit him might be declared 90% at fault, but if the lawyer convinced the jury the city screwed up making the intersection, then they would be responsible for 10% of the verdict. So the driver with no money may never fork over his share of a million dollar verdict, but the City owing 10%? So yeah. I can see a lawyer willing to nuisance lawsuit this arrest into cash for this gal.
An accident is different than an attempted robbery. One is just that. An accident. The other is a crime. A lawyer knows he would lose the case. I doubt it would even make it to trial. How or why should a jury award an attempted thief?
