I could never finish the federation destroyer technical mission in the Star Fleet Academy section.
You have to tractor beam 2 ships, get them in the range of 6 of a huge asteroid that's between, and do this in 8:20 seconds
Naturally the ships are moving, the one on the left is moving in 90 degree angle away from you and the asteroid. The one on the right makes a half circle toward you, somewhat away from the asteroid, but placing it in the opposite angle roughly of the other ship.
One solution I tried when I had an older version of this game, firing on the ships to cripple them, doesn't seem to work. Guess you can't target friendly ships.
Beyond this brain teaser driving me nuts, I love the game.

Basically a retread of the Commodore 64 version of "PSI-5 Trading Company" but with much better graphics. Possibly the most unplayable game ever made for the Commodore 64. The game mechanics are about the same and so is the principal behind how it's played. If you actually payed money for it you would probably be pretty angry, and rightfully so.
That game model is intentionally designed to be unwinnable, capitalizing on the ignorance of the fan base. Such a game that is conceptually flawed will sell anyway, because once it is sold there are no refunds and no exchanges. You are stuck with it for better or for worse. More a matter of protecting software companies from the consequences of their own bad products, than the classic excuse given that it is protection from software pirates.
