I’m not so sure Australia will win. These countries who have no chance of going through seem to play their best football in their last match.
And even if Australia wins, we need France to beat Denmark. The Danish have more to play for than France, as France have qualified already. The Danish are playing for survival.
The media here is optimistic about Australia’s chances of getting through. But if I was a betting man I’d say (Australia 1-1 Peru) and (France 0-1 Denmark).

Cowardly Danes knew they were through no matter what but still refused to attack.
Sadly, we're reaching the stage of the world cup where it becomes a shitstorm of cynical nil/nils and penalty shoot outs.

As he plays as an out and out striker for Australia, there was no reason not to play him from the start and he could've just stayed up front and saved his legs. He is always likely to get a goal from a cross as he is maybe the best I've ever seen in the air. I watched him play about 100 times live and his timing and the way he could hang in the air was astonishing. |
