Maybe you'll be the one person that explains how registering guns prevents them from being used in crimes. No one else seems to be able to. Both cars, and firearms have identification numbers. This is how we determine the last legal owner, once recovered. Especially since tags are easily removed, or switched. Vehicle "registration"/tag is about yearly taxes. And obviously vehicles don't have to be registered, if not driven on public roads. I never said it would prevent gun crime. I said it might cut down on the amount of gun crime. Important difference. Law enforcement could trace guns. Identify users. Penalize those who fail to report their guns stolen. And prevent waackoos from buying guns legally. How does it cut down on gun crime? It doesn't stop theft, and it doesn't stop anyone from using it in a crime. We already have the means to track firearms back to the last legal owner. That's the point of the serial number. When we recover a firearm, we run the numbers to see if it has been reported stolen. Quick and easy. If not reported stolen, our local ATF liaison officer will tell us the name and address of the last FFL purchase. These things happen in every shooting you're seeing on TV. Within an hour we know who legally purchased it, and from where.

I was just using THIS account last nite to explain to someone how often vehicles are stolen, carjacked and simply joyridden these days.
Apparently Kia and Hyundai are being blamed for being 'too easy' to steal now? As if thieves aren't usually 1 or 2 steps ahead of the latest theft protection?
Yeah, we have eight to nine hundred thousand cars stolen a year in this country.

Or if it was stolen because they were careless.

I think registration and mandatory safety classes will cut down on stupid people using guns. And smart people being stupid.

All you are doing is throwing out ad hominems like you always do. You add nothing of substance to any conversation or debate. Just personal insults, offenses, name calling, pigeon holing, etc.

I've been anti-Globalist from the word go. Globalism = no private property ownership. How the hell are you going to have no private property ownership and keep private firearm ownership? Can't be done. Even someone as simple as you should understand that. That's what gun registration is really all about. It has no more to do with "saving lives" than masks and mandates did.

But that's how they earn a buck. More shootings = more money. Same for Democrats and all these anti-violence fly by night organizations that make up statistics for the news. 8,000 Americans die every day, on average, a few are shot dead but consume 90% of the news and people's imagination. Okay? But it's not fucking normal for people to die because some asshole decided shoot people at a mall. It's not normal for children to go to school and get their heads blown off. It deserves press because it's not suppose to happen and isn't acceptable. If you're sick of the press covering mass shootings, blame the people doing the shooting. If you don't like people harping on gun control, blame the fucking assholes walking into schools every month and shooting kids in their classrooms. Put the blame where it belongs, on the people doing the shooting. Less than 1/10 of 1% of American deaths for any given day. If you're angry, it's because the press is manipulating your emotions. Control someone's emotions, you control them. You think nothing bad happened all day until some guy started shooting? Nothing bad happened to the other 8,000-ish people who died that day? I do blame the shooter but violence doesn't happen in a vacuum. Something drives people to violence and we know what that something is, so why isn't the media talking about that instead of blaming inanimate objects? Do they want the violence to continue, they have a vested interest, or maybe they are part of the problem, or both?

I'll bet if you threw enough $Money and motivated scientists at it........ you could do a study that would show that our modern forms of mass media actually contributes to and promotes much of the gun violence we currently have.
