I've felt like that myself a few times. But then I limited how much time I spend on this board. I get my news from Reuters, PBS and NPR. This board can make you think that all of humanity is seriously brain damaged.
And PBS/NPR doesn't?

In part, true, as they expose some of the corruption in American politics, but at least they present both sides of issues. MSM is biased to reporting what gets the most attention and makes them the most money.

You remind me of how Porkpie told me it was unbiased reporting..........so I gave it a few weeks.
They're completely for more and more Govt and higher taxes. Must come from benefiting from that arrangement.

They don't benefit much from that arrangement, given how little is federally funded. Most funds come from private citizens, 501 (c) 3 non-profits, corporations that support human rights issues and environmental issues and other concerned citizens. And I disagree with you that "they are completely for more and more Govt and higher taxes". I don't see that at all. Porkpie was right, and there are other things that PBS airs that isn't about political news. Anything that is narrated by David Attenborough is on my list of things to watch, science-based shows, travel shows that explore historical places (Rick Steve's Europe is a delight, educational, promotes the acceptance of differing cultures and features great places to eat, what could be better?)... There is so much more to PBS than the 'news'. I feel better after watching it, and less likely to give up completely on humanity. Just my humble opinion.

So they're just a little bit whores?
Why not go completely clean and remove any doubt?
I'm disagreeing with you about many of the actual programs...........but NewsHour? It's leftist propaganda. I prefer centrist or even rightist propaganda, myself. ;)

And you'd be OK if the NewsHour was an exact copy of FoxNews? You'd feel that was perfectly fine to fund with your tax dollars?

I've never watched Fox news, and they are a for-profit business. Apples and oranges.

Kinda my point. Being funded by tax dollars does not make one as pure as snow.

Neither does being a non-profit. There are non-profits that are well-run and worthy, and those that aren't. I used to be a fundraiser for a non-profit, and that was the gold standard of fundraising, that the organization was well-run and worthy. Very few things in this world are pure as snow. Now, I must pay some bills... Later...

I'M LEARNING A BIT NOW ABOUT NON-PROFITS MYSELF.........(ooops CAPS) and I suspect there are a good many of them are playing the game inside the Govt's rules and regulations.
Thank you for paying your own bills. ;)

I was actually ribbing someone about their devoted support for Casey Anthony........who either killed, or at least helped dispose of, her own toddler.
Kill your fetus, kill your baby, kill your toddler. Who are you really harming but your own family unit?
Ok, I see where you’re coming from. I thought you were making a “pro-life” statement, which is find, but I was just reminding people so-called pro-life Republicans are anything but…… They believe in “aborting” any non-fetus, live body not to their liking.

Been doing that since I was in my early 20s, I've worked my entire adult life. Actually, my first job was when I was a teen, and my Dad owned an office building. I was the janitor there on weekends, cleaned bathrooms, Venetian blinds, polished and vacuumed floors, made repairs with Dad's help. And he paid me hourly. Half the wage went to support my horse, and the other half was mine to spend as I wished, and it usually went towards the horse, too, lol! But I grew up with a work ethic. During college, I cleaned apartments that had been vacated for the summer. I retired on my late husband's Social Security at age 62, but still do odd jobs and sell crafts online.

With due respect to your humble opinion, consider this: Most funds at government's disposal comes from citizens too...so in what way does that invariably bind them to acting in the best interests of those citizens...really?
