WHERE was the outrage when Daniels' character suggested America was greater at some moment in the past?
Odds are all those standings for the US have slipped even farther since this was made, too

Some points are spot on, market-based healthcare way underperforms socialized health care while costing loads more. Our public schools are underperforming when taken in aggregate because we are a large country with many poor areas that drag down the average. I don't agree that other countries have "freedom" in the same context. Canada bans everything and you soon might get arrested for using the wrong pronoun. England arrests teens for posting rap lyrics and it's one of the most oppressive countries in history bar none, and still has a monarchy. Australia does not have freedom of speech, and for a long time imported stolen children to use as child slaves labor, where young women typically had to prostitute their way out of it. And all of the countries he mentioned are a fraction of our size and mostly white with very little diversity. So while there is truth in some of what he says, it lacks context and really is just another way of shitting on the United States which is the driver behind many of our current problems.

yep, plenty to dive in there and dissect.
We have many poor areas.............that have been given $Billions over the years and are still poor........ all while we leave the borders open to millions more poor?
Our schools also signed up for the lowered expectations. They embraced Special Ed and the tax funds it rained down upon them.....and for what? To feel good? To line the pockets of their union?
I just liked the speech for pointing out how far we've slipped.........and it's getting worse. But nobody really had a problem back then suggesting America needed to 'get back to greatness'. Wonder why not?

No, not the kind of free speech like you do but we still have voices ie the right to protest and criticize government. Then again how free is free speech when the FBI gets involved in elections and tries to silence oppositional information ie Twitter and Facebook in regards to the New York Post's Hunter Biden article (Russian disinformation) No country is without sin. What about African Americans and native Americans? Were they treated so well in the past? |

Ideas are a killer for the two party system. They own us voters, why? Because they know most will never go outside those two options. When it does happen, like in 1992, change the rules to make it harder for them to get into the debates. This is a hand in hand effort from the two parties. They fill their pockets.....we lose.
