A Chicago resident made an online post about the sighting as he kayaked along the river and chatted with another person about the giant reptile.

I can only wonder this things been eating.Radioactive sludge, from the looks of it . Seriously though, that's a pretty amazing beastie. I never knew they could reach that size!

Sheesh. I have visions of them swallowing ducks whole...which is probably a lot kinder than how it actually happens...I couldn't bring myself to watch the video to find out.

Wow, that’s cool. I’ve seen some snapping turtles in the lakes/waterways near where I live, none as massive as that though.

The Cat family had a couple very young snapping turtles as 'pets' way back when. Then one evening when the family went out for ice cream, the dachshund ate them.

If it weren't for the giveaway words "Giant 60lb" in the title, I would have thought this was a thread about Don Rickles.
Still, the relaxed reptile does bear more than a passing resemblance.
