It’s an Amazon Prime original.
Most films they produce are garbage but this was OKish. I liked Matt Damon as the lead. It was 20 minutes too long though. could have got rid of Jason Bateman’s character without missing out on much.
The bit where Nike agreed to give Jordan a percentage of each Air Jordan sold was a bit stupid. At no time was the actual percentage ever discussed!
Anyway, 5/10

Do you even like any movie or is everything "tosh" to you?

I saw it, and I liked it much better than you did. When I first read about the movie, I remember thinking “there is no way in hell that this story warrants a feature film”. But I went to see it anyway, on the strength of the generally positive reviews and word-of-mouth, and I was very pleased. I am not particularly interested in Nike, basketball or Michael Jordan but I found the story engrossing.

Jordan makes 5% of the sale amount on each item of Nike merchandise with his name on it. That’s over $260m a year now.

A very well-made movie about a topic that shouldn't be of particular interest to anyone. Somehow manages to be compelling despite knowing the outcome beforehand. A lot of creative license was used no doubt, but the scenes really work. Love that one scene where Damon's character is devastated because he thinks he lost the account. He looks around the office at all the people who will probably lose their jobs because he couldn't close the deal. Well directed, and superbly acted by Damon; you know how things turn out, yet you're still moved by that scene.
I was just discussing this movie on the other board, and I can never decide if I'm under- or overrating it. It's not amazing by any means, but it really is better than it has any business being.

I felt the same. They definitely took quite a bit of creative license but I thought Damon was great as Vaccaro and it was well made hence well directed by Affleck.

I haven't seen it but I did read Phil Knight's book on the Nike early years, Shoe Dog. That was excellent, would definitely recommend reading that...
