What a terrible decade for movies, you're right. There were some good comedies in that decade, though. The lower budget movies were much better.
Only two good movies in that group-Patton and Cuckoo.
Truth is that this is the decade when the control freaks began ruling the awards and Hollywood. This is when the mob really took hold, as we see by some of the movies which tell the sheep of the world that the mob is superior to human beings.
