I'm actually a fan of this franchise. They always come up with some interesting ideas with each movie to keep it fresh.

As with all these things they just get progressively worse. The first one was a decent idea, the others I've seen have been pretty terrible.

I'm actually a fan of this franchise. They always come up with some interesting ideas with each movie to keep it fresh. This is surprisingly true. The TV series brought some refreshing realism and new ideas to the series.

As Ygg said the Purge got progressively worse after the first, if it wasn't for the hysteria during Trump's presidency would they've even been a thing?

Thought the last one completely jumped the shark, Once you take away the "deadline" aspect of the killing then what's the point? Takes away the whole USP of the franchise.

Takes away the whole USP of the franchise.I've only seen 2 of them, but seeds of a resistance go back to at least the 2nd movie. That's not jumping the shark, that's advancing the story, which for schlock is somewhat impressive.
