I dreamt last night that I was attending a play—I think at a regional theater, though with how much this dream crossed space and time, it could’ve been Broadway. Anyway, the dream: I am close to the stage, I think third row or something. Sitting across from me are Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker. I think I thought of them because my physical therapist told me he met them once on a ferry. I have no idea what the play is. It makes no sense. As far as I could tell, the actors just walk out, in costume, and recite random gibberish. Like “googly goggly today is blue aren’t you however rich macaroni too.” One of the actors is Natasha Lyonne. I’ve just been watching her as Charlie Cale in Poker Face, which explains why she was in the dream. The play is only five minutes long. Yes. And I’m thinking that I’ve paid all this money to get a front-row seat for this play and it’s five minutes long?! I also remember thinking that it’s intermission, just for the actors to come out for bows. Annoyed, I see an open door and look outside. Apparently the theater is on a river. It looks like the harbor in Old Quebec. A ferry is coming up the river, and I think, Yes, I was just on that the other day. The scene changes; I have now apparently teleported back to my house. Or I guess it could be my living room transformed into a hotel lobby, because there are lots of chairs and couches around and maybe a check-in desk. Sitting in one chair is Julie Andrews. I strike a conversation with her, focusing nearly entirely on The Sound of Music. I tell her I was disappointed the movie left out the stage musical’s humorous “How Can Love Survive?” She says she agrees. But neither of us can remember the name of the song, so we spend way too long trying to figure it out. In real life, I like “How Can Love Survive?” just fine, but what a waste of a conversation with Julie Andrews. That said, I got the feeling she didn’t like the five-minute show either. So that’s a relief. ;)

I’ve had intermittent dreams over the years about a nonexistent bookstore. It’s not that large, but it has a huge inventory. On entering, to the left is a ladder that leads up to a second level. To the right is a section with a bunch of windows. In the back of the store, one step up from the main level, is a café.
These dreams are like a peek into another universe, because the bookstore has changed and gotten new owners over the years. I remember one dream where I walked in the store and got a bit sad because the new owners had changed everything around.
Anyway, in last night’s dream the bookstore had changed into a library! It looked like a great little library in Lake Placid, N.Y. I was browsing the shelves and saw a section where the library was selling books they were getting rid of. I think my brain this time was conflating the dream-bookstore with an equally non-real library, made entirely of glass, that my dreams set in Montauk, N.Y.!
These recurrent dream-locations are so weird—they’re so vivid and I could even draw them from memory, but they don’t exist!

Dreamt last night that my mother, my grandmother, and I were at the movies to see a Planet of the Apes prequel. In reality, my grandmother would have zero interest in Planet of the Apes.
Anyway, the movie is animated and involves these little creatures—I guess they’re supposed to be primates?—that go in some kind of submarine and sink to the bottom of the ocean. While they’re sinking we see and hear all these lights and booms going on above them—I think this is supposed to indicate a nuclear war going on, but I realize that the filmmakers can’t show a nuclear war because this is a G-rated movie. (I know, that makes no sense.) The implication is that the creatures survive because of the capsule they’re in and go on to take over the earth.
That’s the last scene of the movie, by the way. On the way out of the theater I can tell that we’re all disappointed.
The dream had more, but I can’t remember it. I did want to write the nutty “movie” down before I forget it, though.

I was visiting some friends, a couple where the woman just had a child, and we were sitting in their living room with her holding the baby and debating what we should do until someone decided that we should be having a movie night, and I was asked to pick the movie. Now for some reason I chose the giallo classic Deep Red. So we start watching it, but it's nothing like the actual movie, but more like a travel documentary with the host, a middle-aged man wearing a summer hat, driving around Northern Italy. He was at lake Como I think when my friends started getting restless, complaining that this was a dull movie and nothing like what they were promised. I try to defend the movie, telling them, that it starts out slowly but would soon turn into a hell-of-a ride with some stylish killings. Then I notice, that instead of the baby the woman is now holding a pet monkey, although the monkey is dressed up like a human toddler, and I'm actually relieved, because it just occurs to me, that babies shouldn't watch horror movies. I can't remember anything more.

Many dreams last night (I was returning from a vacation, which probably made my brain more active). ___________________________________________________________________________________
In one I’m simultaneously watching and in a movie (that old chestnut of my dreams). It has some kind of fantasy setting, with magic wands and crowns and what I assume are fairies or pixies or something. I think I and the people (fairies? nymphs?) I’m with are some kind of rebels against some kind of regime? Maybe?
When the dream starts, I am standing on a dock, from which I have to jump on to a boat on the water. I land, and the boat takes off, and I realize that I’ve seen this movie (the “movie” I’m in) before and thus know that some of the rebels are actually spies for the regime.
I keep my mouth shut so that the movie plays out correctly. But then this woman, whom I remember as being a spy, gets knocked off the boat and eaten by a crocodile (!). I say, Is she going to make it?, and the other fairies/pixies/nymphs somberly shake their heads no. I’m shocked because that’s not the way the movie is supposed to go.
Then I look to my left and see some kind of fantasy creature scratching a tree, and I wonder what that’s for, and I realize that the movie isn’t going the way I remember it. ___________________________________________________________________________________
In another dream I’m checking into a hotel, I think in New York City and for some kind of conference. I’m with a bunch of people. I’m standing near the door and see this man, who looks like Mads Mikkelsen in the last Indiana Jones movie, walk in. He creeps me out because, in the dream, I’ve been seeing him everywhere recently—I think he’s following me, and I get this feeling that he may be some kind of secret agent.
He sees me, and he says cheerily, How funny, I keep seeing you everywhere.
I try to let the people I’m with know about him, but no one seems interested. ______________________________________________________________________________________
My mother is a real estate agent (in real life), and in the last dream, I am helping her at an open house.
Unfortunately, the first potential buyer is a crazy woman who rips paintings off the walls and tears the wallpaper (leaving scratch marks that look like the ones on the tree in the first dream) and breaks the homeowner’s tchotchkes.
Instead of calling the police, like sensible people, my mother and I lock the lunatic in the bathroom. Mom and I then have to ready the house for the next customer. After a little while, I have to go to the bathroom. I crack open the door, and Crazy Lady sticks out her arm so that I can’t close the door. She pleads with me, saying she’s fine and I should let her out, but I keep trying to close the door, and eventually she moves her arm and I can close the door.
Then I go upstairs, looking for another bathroom, and hear a creepy laugh like Renfield’s in the 1931 Dracula. I turn around and realize Crazy Lady has gotten out. I yell to my mother, at the bottom of the steps, but then I look and see the next potential buyer is already there, in the attic. It’s Anthony Hopkins.
I tell Mom that Anthony Hopkins is here to look at the house, and Hopkins says, “Tsk tsk,” and turns the page of the newspaper he’s holding.

I don’t remember much of last night’s dream, but if we have any other aspiring writers here, it could be a decent premise for a book or movie.
I am back in college, in my school’s dining hall, which in the dream doubles as the admissions office. (I dunno.) I am walking past that office to grab lunch when I see an old man, in a trench coat, wandering around as if lost. I ask him if he’s OK, and he starts crying. He says his daughter went to this school years ago and she’s gone missing, and he needs to find out facts about her life. (I dunno.)
I lead him to the admissions office, where he tells one of the employees his daughter’s name. The employee looks it up and says no one of that name ever went to the school. The man says his daughter could have gone by a different name; this name gets a result. The employee prints out a form on the daughter.
The employee, randomly, suggests to me that the daughter’s disappearance may be a conspiracy going up to the highest levels of the U.S. government. You’d think my interest would be extremely piqued, but instead I just make sure the old man’s OK and then walk off to the school library, apparently forgetting about getting lunch.
I dunno!

The first part had a 1920/30s setting. We were at a railway station I suppose as railway tracks went through the middle of the structure. There were a lot of people around dressed for a party. We were all waiting for fireworks. Believe it was new year's eve. The fireworks happened. After a while when the party died down I was leaving or it couldve been immediately after. A friend offers a lift but I say I have my car here Ok so the second part is after I woke up and then proceeded to return to sleep again.
James Bond (Craig) is skiing on some railway tracks (yeah I know skiing right??), he goes past random people that are oddly around too. It's like a railway track network. He gets to his destination and there is Madeleine (Léa Seydoux). She is holding a skin of wine (like in medieval times). Apparently it's a special wine or something. She gives it to him and they flirt a little bit. Before Bond gets to his destination when he was just skiing, he glitched for a little bit and turned into Robin Williams but reverted back. My question is, what is the significance of the railway tracks? Appearing in both dreams. Or could it just be a residual thought from the first dream? What do you make of all this in general?
