I had a dream that I acquired an addiction to flying in planes. If anyone is familiar with Steam, you'll know that you get points with every purchase you make. Well, in the dream they were frequent flyer points, so I used them to fly to various places (seemingly everywhere had an airport). Armed with a passport, I decided to fly to New Zealand. I arrived in Wellington, had a bit of a walk about, and then looked for a flight back home to Australia. I was told by a woman at the counter that the last flight had just left... the last flight of the season because Winter was coming (which made no sense because its almost halfway through Spring). Now stranded in New Zealand, I discovered my father was there as well (he must've materialised there somehow, he never came with me to NZ). He tried to organise a plane to come and pick us up, but no luck. We consulted a map and found out the nearest airport that was open was in Fiji, so I decided we'd get on a ship to go there, but my father wasn't keen on the idea. The dream ended there somewhere.
In the dream, Wellington looked more like the town in Far Cry 5 than the city it is IRL. Also, I've spent a bit of time today wondering why I couldn't have just got a ship back to Australia, instead of sailing to an airport on an island deep in the South Pacific. Actually, that whole dream raises a LOT of questions about that world...

Cats. Lots and lots of cats.
A great dream to be sure.

My most recent dream was very strange, so I'll do my best to make it coherent. It seems like there were two different dreams going on at the same time, intersecting with each other at various points. In the main dream, I was on holiday with my family in the jungle behind Cairns (this is the second dream in the last couple weeks where I've had a holiday in Cairns), and we discovered a town we'd never known existed in that area before. I saw an old friend of my father's, so I went to visit him by myself. There were nudists living in his house along with him, and I watched a beautiful and very willowy black woman pirouetting around his living room naked. Now in the other dream, it seemed to be one of those where I was seeing everything going on but I wasn't physically there, or at least that's how it seemed. It followed a smart teenage boy whose step-father was an evil mastermind called Custer. This kid was trying to bring Custer down, but having no luck with any of his schemes. He was at a loss, so he ran away from home and hid at an abandoned quarry. I then saw Custer torturing a bunch of cats. In the main dream, I found out that I couldn't leave this town, so I sat down at a table outside of a little cafe. Suddenly I found three cats, all horrifically mutilated but still living, just in the street. Two of them had the backs and tops of their heads missing, while the third had horrendous burns. This angered me that someone would be that evil. It was here where I encountered the kid, and he told me about Custer and what he was doing. I decided that I would do something about him. It was there that I discovered that it was possible to travel long distances by simply jumping up in the air and suspending myself there somehow. The kid and I travelled to the quarry, and planned our attack on Custer. I also learnt that the levitational travelling (also known as "hooping") was somehow heavily monopolized by Custer, and the kid and I had used it illegally to travel. This caused a fallout between him and me. Deciding that defeating Custer was better than upholding a squabble, I went back to helping him to take down Custer. I don't remember too much more, but the last thing I recall was that I used hooping to travel to the Moon for some reason. The town's name started with an E, and the friend of my father did exist, however he died last year after a series of strokes. Custer looked like Rafael Drake, the main antagonist in 007 Nightfire, but with brown hair instead of black.

Can't remember what I dreamed last night, but the night before was wild. I was a member of a small resistance group in occupied Denmark in WWII. We weren't killing any Germans, but we were sabotaging stuff and making them look like fools. Then the mastermind of our little group became convinced that one member was a traitor, so she started killing off the group one by one. My turn was coming up and I was trying to talk with the guy and convince him that there might be a better way of handling the problem. He was trying to decide whether to kill me or not when I woke up.

In high school, I used to make (i.e., direct, write, âproduce,â edit, steal music for) short films for a class, a story that I told a few times back on the old board. To make a long story short, the teacher was this fun, goofy guy who pretty much let me do my own thing for two years, and âmy own thingâ meant genuine mini-movies, many in black and white, with plots stolen from just about everything Iâve ever watched. The best one by far was a western that was basically a Rio Bravo remake, but I figured that if Howard Hawks could remake it (twice), so could I! Heh.
Anyway: Two nights ago I had a dream about the class. I am at a concert at my high school, which here looks like my middle school (a building so bizarrely designed that H.P. Lovecraft could have dreamt it upâand that should have been shut down years ago), and I find a door that leads to the art wing, where I had the film class.
I walk to the door and look in, and I see that the class is now being taught by someone I donât know. He looks like a former coworker of mine, but my coworker was niceâthe teacher is a taskmaster whom the students despise. I tell him that I used to be in this class, and what happened to the old teacher?
New teacher says old teacher was fired because he was too lax and let everyone do whatever they want. I gulp. New teacher asks if I have any stories from the class that I want to tell the kids. I go into long stories about all the crazy stuff that happened while I was making my movies. The kids like the silly stories, but I can see New Teacher checking his watch and indicating he wants me to stop and leave.
When I finish my stories, New Teacher grabs my arm and leads me out the door. He says I can never return to the class and how dare I usurp his authority by telling the students stories of a fun teacher who used to be here.
Thatâs all I remember.

I dreamt last night that I am watching the Frasier revival (I havenât seen it yet and donât have a good feeling about it). In the dream the show starts off with a scene involving Marty Crane, played by the late, great John Mahoney. Heâs whining to a housekeeper (if I remember correctly), and maybe the housekeeper is Daphne (the hilarious Jane Leeves, reportedly not in this revival)? I feel like Iâd be sure if it were Daphne, but Iâm not.
Iâm wondering how on earth they could have this scene if Mahoneyâs dead.
At first I think itâs like what they did with the Grand Moff Tarkin character in that Star Wars movie, have an actor play the role and then put CGI âmakeupâ of Peter Cushingâs face over the actorâs face, but everything about Marty is perfect, and I donât see any signs of the face being off or anything. Then I think maybe this is a scene from the original show that was cut, so no oneâs ever seen it before.
Thatâs what I decide on as the most likely explanation as the show leaves Marty and cuts to a surrealistic credits sequence involving psychedelic colors and Kelsey Grammerâs floating head (I have no clue either). The whole thing looks more like Yellow Submarine than Frasier. Thatâs all I remember.

I dreamt that I was at the famous carnival in Cologne. Which is weird, because I'm not someone who enjoys dressing up in a costume and I'm normally not a fan of large crowds. Well, at least in my dream I partially stayed true to myself being the only one in the crowd not in fancy dress. I also felt slightly out of place, not sure what I was doing there.
Then suddenly I notice someone familiar in the crowd and realise that it's the actor Jeremy Brett dressed as his Sherlock Holmes character with the characteristic deerstalker. I try to point him out to the people I'm with, but next thing I know I'm hovering above the ground, slowly rising up into the air, until I'm high enough that I can observe the scene from above having a bird's eye view of the entire event.
I can't remember any more of the dream.

A few days ago I watched Brett as Holmes in âThe Musgrave Ritual,â after not having seen an episode in years, and was bowled over by his acting. Heâs thrilling to watch. Also, âThe Musgrave Ritualâ has to be one of the best episodes of that showâa great adaptation of the source material, with a lot of atmosphere and plenty for Watson to do even though heâs not in most of Doyleâs story.

I recently started a rewatch of the Sherlock Holmes series featuring Brett, but I had to put it on hold, since I'm only watching horror related films in October, because I signed up for the horror challenge.

I often have dreams about people turning into animals or vice versa, or animals turning into other species. It happened for real last Saturday morning in Southern Israel.
