I think Voids in space are actually singularities/gravity wells and given enough time they release their contents back out into space. You can only compress matter for so long and sooner or later something will give. I think voids, singularities/gravity wells and the releasing of the gravity wells is the Universe's way of renewing itself. The matter in these gravity wells is reduced to super-subatomic mush and released back into space starting the star creating process all over again.
And I think there are stars and galaxies that are so far away that we will never see them because of the limitations of the speed of light. And the light if any from them is so far away that it becomes indistinguishable from the background. And you mix all the colors of light. You get Black,......, which is the color of space.

Actually if you mix all the colors of light you get white. Isaac Newton discovered that while playing with a prism in sunlight.
