Wonder why the watermark is Fine Art America when it’s a British magazine. Terrific artwork though. It's strange but they do have good copies. I was actually looking for saucy French illustrations (see below) and ended up with English middle class retro.  |

John Bull’s illustration’s seem to be a Brit version of Saturday Evening Post magazine that often featured Norman Rockwell’s covers of romanticized American domestic life.   |

Yes, I was going to say the first two John Bull covers were in Norman Rockwell’s style.

Oddly enough, I can't find 'Eat Fat and Stay Fit' in any bibliography of Ms. Christie's works. But all kidding aside, great cover. Magazines lost a lot when they dropped illustrative art in favor of photography. |

Yeah, Sven Hassel books got passed around our school. I never bothered reading one though.
