I have never listened to much C&W except for a few crossover artists (e.g. Johnny Cash) and NEVER thought I would follow a bluegrass group. But I am absolutely crazy for The Petersens. I really surprised myself.

Do you have any favourite videos? People love their take on John Denver's music.

Yes, actually. I think both of these came out in the Holiday season last December. "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" features a main component of Bluegrass, mainly the jazz-like solo instrument (seemingly) improvisational riff. Katie has a virtuoso turn on violin and Emmett Franz on a Drobro brand Resonator Guitar. Katie Petersen, by the way, does all the arrangements for the group's songs. BTW, John Denver's "Country Roads" was the first I heard from them. I must have listened to that video a dozen or more times over a number of days before going to look for others by them. In the second, Katie recreates Big Band singing with the 1947 song "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve."
