Just don't mention the stellar promotion path towards consultancy where ones salary quadruples, or the humungous index-linked taxpayer-funded final salary pension entitlements that don't appear on ones payslip.
A 35% increase demand isn't so much a demand as just taking the piss.

Pension did appear on his payslip … employee contribution of 10% of earnings. It is a very good scheme … though not a final salary one.

Yeah, it's a pretty terrible pay scheme with junior doctors, no matter how much the right wing and their papers try and portray them as greedy bastards who hate patients, the reality is that it's nowhere near enough to retain people, let alone get them to commit their future to England. We are training doctors at huge costs and then losing them to Australia and elsewhere because we won't pay them a competitive wage. Then those same right wingers and their papers start ranting about the number of "bloody foreigners" working in the NHS and why aren't we using British staff? I think a lot of them need some doctors to do some brain surgery to help them see the contradictions in their arguments.

The recently qualified doctor in the article is already talking about moving to Australiabecause of the shitty wages.

Also the 35% was never a demand it was showing what they had lost in real terms in the last decade. 35% would be what they should be paid to be back to the expected pay. No doubt they'd accept something like 9% or there abouts. If we want to keep them we pay it or bring in more cheap evil immigrant doctors and we all know they smell a bit funny and no one can understand them.
