Did you watch the show? What do you think was happening in that Strip Club?
Strippers are well known for picking up side business..........but that doesn't necessarily mean that the business is behind their illegal activities.
In the show the business was behind the illegal activities.

Lol, no I did not. You guys will say anything. "It’s a combination of American sexist culture and capitalism." That’s not blaming someone else.

Tony Soprano ran a strip club, among various illegal activities. I don’t remember prostitution being one of them. Did you watch the show? What do you think was happening in that Strip Club? Call me naïve, but in the lack of clear indications that the strippers were also turning tricks on the side, I won't assume that that was the case.

They weren’t really explicit about it in the storyline. I do think the implication was there, especially given that the actual club they based Bada-Bing on really wad eventually shut for, among other things, laundering and prostitution.

In the show the business was behind the illegal activities. From my understanding the Bada Bing was supposed to be a "legit business" (or a "front" as criminals like to call them) so Tony could at least pretend he wasn't a crook, he usually tried to keep his criminal enterprise seperate from it (though I'm sure he used it to launder money). While I'm sure the strippers themselves turned tricks on the side (which is quite common from my understanding), I doubt Tony himself would turn the place into a full on brothel (it would attract attention from cops/feds and allow them to RICO the place). It's not like Tony was using Satriales Butcher shop to run a prostitution ring either. It's just not worth it.

Any thread that turns into a chat about the Sopranos is a good thread.

"It’s a combination of American sexist culture and capitalism." That’s not blaming someone else. I beg to differ. Also, if that were the case the same cult figure would have appeared in every American ethnic community.

Girls that wanted to work there had to pay and give Georgie a blow job. So, it was pretty open.

Because a lot of Black people haven't got the brains to realize they are being exploited by the White Liberal elites. That's why. It plays up a racial trope of the worst kind. You going to have to present arguments for this claim. The Black "Big Daddy Pimp with gold teeth" is an overused plot device.
It's just a modern variation of the Sambo/Bojangles shit.

After reading the OP I had to immediately go watch this gem again: Wayne Brady at his best.

Pimps operate outside of legal society. Who does that? People who weren't allowed in or, if in, had very few opportunities for financial success.
I imagine some people may look at pimps as independent operators who circumnavigate and outfox the system but are always in danger of arrest. Makes for an interesting film character despite the victimization and exploitation of the people who work for them.
