Loving "Blood Meridian" at the moment, only my second after "The Road" are the rest as good? Never read him. Isn't he the guy who uses sentences like: the green gravel grated upon the growing glow of Godless grievances and guilt? I think that's always put me off.

No use of Alliteration that I have noticed, particularly, and he isn't an over verbose Will Self type either. Blood Meridian is cracking stuff after 100 pages.

Whassabout? set on the Mexico/California border in the 1850's. Shockingly violent realistic period piece. Beautifully descriptive. Highly recommend it so far.

Loving "Blood Meridian" at the moment, only my second after "The Road" are the rest as good? I've read "Blood Meridian" and loved it. Also read "All the Pretty Horses" (hated the film, but loved the novel), "The Road," (loved it), and "No Country for Old Men" (couldn't get through the film because of the graphic violence, but loved the novel). I even read his first novel, "The Orchard Keeper," which isn't as good as his later works, but it's still good. He was a wonderful writer.
