Looking forward to this one.
Coogan's accent pretty spot on.

Wonderful comedians who brought sunshine into all our lives. If there were real life difficulties and unpleasantnesses I don't think I want to know about them.

I would rather be seeing the story at the beginning of their careers. Let's at least start with success, happiness and optimism. Why start in the twilight of their careers?
Also, not sure if Steve Coogan was the right choice. John C. Reilly seemed good, but all I saw for Stan was Alan Partridge.

When Coogan says Ollie wouldn't be anywhere without him, the accent is spot on. Seems a bit generic at other points in the trailer.

That the accent is spot on. I mean the non-acting accent. Given that this film is about their off-screen times, I thought that's what you meant.

But you hear his accent in the Laurel and Hardy films (very Lancashire). Plus he did a few interviews and things. In the bit in the trailer where Coogan is telling Ollie that he got lucky, the accent was very similar to Stan Laurel's. But in the other bits, it was a little off.

But schooled in the north east and Glasgow. I'd love to see a biopic of Cary Grant. That guy's early life was all over the place.

But schooled in the north east and Glasgow At what age does one acquire an accent? I think he spent his early years in Lancashire, enough to get an accent. Certainly always sounded more Lancashire than Geordie to me.

Certainly always sounded more Lancashire than Geordie to me. True, definitely more Lancs or Yorks. Geordie has a singing twang to it which is just plain annoying. (I'm from there...)
