1-4-5-6-Ends is a pretty trippy timeline.

politicidal1 reported the franchise has been sold and a TV series is likely. If it continues with Michael, I hope James Jude Courtney is retained. I liked his interpretation of the character. He was great even if parts 2 and 3 of his series sucked. I did like how Michael was portrayed as living in sewers. I always pictured him in sewers or abandoned buildings. Eating rats or some shit. Sitting and growing angrier and healing. Similar to the coma in 4. He just heals and gets stronger. No JLC this time though. I'm done with Laurie.
I would be open to continuing from part 1, part 2, or 4.
I wouldn't be against an anthology show either.

At this point Id welcome an anthology. Not sure how much more they could do with Michael. Although removing Michael really does delete a lot of the demographic coming to see a Halloween tv series. If they could somehow do both...

If they could somehow do both... Removing Michael is why III and Ends were not liked. His role was drastically decreased in Ends and he was outright removed from III and people were not happy.
They've tried to do both. They've attempted the anthology and/or passing the torch with Michael thing. It was controversial, at best. Yet, for some reason, I think both can work.
I think Ends had ideas that were good in theory. Michael slowly dying after having his body go through the ringer in 2018 and Kills was kinda cool. He's clearly supernatural, but within certain limits. He can take punishment no mortal man can, but he's pushing 70. The evil can only sustain his body for so long. This should:
have taken place right after this:
Corey should have been intorudced in the first movie with his downfall beginning right away and him fully turning at the end of Kills or beginning of Ends.
Halloween 4 tried to do something very similar, but chickened out in 5 and made Jamie good again.

1-4-5-6-Ends is a pretty trippy timeline. Trippy because it doesn't work?
He's Jamie's uncle in 4-6, but in the 2018 trilogy he's not related to Laurie.

Yea I was aiming for a series that didn’t really work.

Why would they mention in all 3 of that trilogy they aren't related? They wouldn't.

Well, OK. merv was just imagining a 1-4-5-6- Ends timeline, and as far as I can remember nothing in Ends would necessarily contradict that timeline (I may be wrong). It’d be wacky, sure, but I don’t think self-contradictory. (And sometimes people want wacky.)

Ends (or Kills) doesn't need to establish they aren't related. They are sequels to 2018 and it already does that.
Not to mention, he includes 4-6, which also says they are related.

I imagine 1 and the new trilogy as the true canon, with all the others being legends and lore passed around in the interim.
That said, Jason is my favorite. I guess I just have the most nostalgia for those flicks because I saw some of them as a kid. I never watched a Halloween movie until I was an adult.

Ah, I remember this time of year on the old IMDB boards. Everyone would say, "See you again next year during the AMC marathon." Good times.

This is just a fan poster, but I'd be interested in this as a new timeline: www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=2533403456810498&set=gm.1872072059876503&idorvanity=574848739598848It could continue from Halloween 4. Jamie was caught after she stabbed her foster mother. Been imprisoned for decades. Michael assumed dead, but really just hibernating, recovering, and growing stronger, breaks her out. Danielled Harris is actually old enough now to play the role. I would make her different from Michael personality and physicality wise. She wouldn't talk either, but would show more personality than him. I'd toy with not having her wear a mask. I'd also make her "powers" sort of the opposite of his. It would not be believable to make her a brick house like him. She's 5ft. Not as strong as Michael, but faster and more agile. Almost feral like. Kinda like a thunder and lighting (or Hawk and Dove for you comic geeks) type thing.

I've told this story before, but I like recalling it.
I wasn't overly impressed when I saw Halloween in 1978 (probably the only person on the planet) and found it pretty much repetitious after the first couple of kills. At the end of the movie when Michael gets off the floor for the third (or fourth) time a group of guys at the back of the theatre started singing "Macho Man." Sometimes audience participation is the best thing about a film.
