That silly cunt moved for a motion of no confidence in Chancellor Vallorum, which paved the way for Palpatine to be Chancellor. Qui-Gon Jinn and Padme Amidala, the two idiots who ended the Republic.

Padme Amidala doesn’t deserve most of the blame here. She was only 14 or 15 years old. It shouldn’t be surprising that she was manipulated by a crafty old perv who had more years experience in politics than Padmé had years being alive. This is the fault of the Naboo government - for making rulers out of exuberant, horny, naive teenagers.

Few people realize R2D2 was the real mastermind behind the scenes.

Few people realize R2D2 was the real mastermind behind the scenes. I’m sure there’s a YouTube video about that somewhere…

I know this is a joke thread, and she doesn't deserve blame for being lied to, but her acceptance of Anakin being a terrible person is disgusting. She excused him, Luke excused him, one thing I always envisioned in a sequel trilogy - that took place much sooner than 30 years - was Leia having a very being problem with who her father was. She did, however, excuse Ben's actions and was willing to take him back because it was all Snoke's fault. I'm kinda sick of that shit in this series. Stop defending mass murderers.

Few people realize R2D2 was the real mastermind behind the scenes. Personally I think Gonk is the power droid behind the throne.

Sci-fi writer David Brin (The Postman) wrote a long piece making the same argument regarding Darth Vader. I hate Vader's redemption for a few reasons.
1. He does not deserve forgiveness or credit for anything. He is a mass murderer and an awful person. He is a selfish person. He only saved Luke because he is his son.
2. It set a precedent. There's a certain chunk of the fanbase - and writers who listen to them - who think every movie, book, show, or video game needs a piece of shit that needs to be redeemed. Let villains be villains.
