Oliver Anthony went off after he learned how much his fans were being charged per ticket to see him live in concert. Oliver Anthony made it very clear on where he stands when it comes to taking advantage of people and his fans. Oliver Anthony promised it will never happen again!

Never heard of him, but an artist unaware of his own ticket prices is clearly not on the ball, his management would certainly know. Sounds like someone not concerned until the pricing started to make him look bad, then pleading ignorance. Of course, if he doesn't want to excessively profit off them he could donate his fees to a charity of their choice. As to cancelling a show he will have a signed contract and would need a good reason or be sued, so I would take claims to that with a pinch of salt.

You do now this is the guy who turned down an $8 million dollar contract from one of the music studios. He has values that matter to him and I applaud that.

seems to be some country singer that went viral with a song American Conservatives have jumped on attacking "elites", people on benefit, taxation and "child trafficking", all the latest right wing dog whistle subjects.

Why are things rightfully to be concerned about "dog whistle subjects"? Because they are the latest woke trends, just look at the yank boards, throw in "trannies" for "alt right Bingo". But whatever, thought you actually wanted a serious answer to your question.

Why are things rightfully to be concerned about "dog whistle subjects"? yggdrasil's characterization of Oliver Anthony and his song is inaccurate and unfair. “We ain’t gonna punch down on those who need a bit of understanding and some solidarity—that ain’t right, friend.”...... Sorry, I agree with Billy Bragg. "But then he starts going on about obese people messing with welfare, and I’m like, Hang on a minute. What’s going on here? Because up till now, it kind of sounds like the sort of thing that Woody Guthrie would sing. And then the next thing, he starts getting really specific about short, fat people who receive welfare, only to spend it on what I later discovered are chocolate biscuits. It’s such a discordant image that I really had to go back and start listening to the song again. I realized it was really about punching down, wasn’t it? I think the key line is when he says “I wish I could wake up and it not be true.” You have to do a little bit more than that."

He's killing his own career. If you take a 120k payday, the venue has to recoup. So what does he do? He cancels his show because people were paying $100. Bro... hundreds of thousands of people paid $300-$1000 for Taylor Swift tickets. HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE. A $100 ticket is not a big deal. Canceling this show only hurts the fans that wanted to see him.
