The US is to have an ongoing military presence in Syria, will continue working with the glorious UN to show Assad the door, and will openly engage to undercut Iranian influence in the region. This according to US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. What say you, isolationists?? Where's ayatollah? Has Twelvebar ever made it over here? WVB?
And Iran is a busy bee in the region, as Tillerson notes. “Iran has dramatically strengthened its presence in Syria by deploying Iranian Revolutionary Guard troops; supporting Lebanese Hezbollah; and importing proxy forces from Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and elsewhere. Through its position in Syria, Iran is in a stronger position to extend its track record of attacking U.S. interests, allies and personnel in the region." Sounds crowded all up in there, no? Of course, the Kurds that we support (and have trained) seem to severely vex our NATO ally, Turkey, so we have to keep them on a short leash. And somebody keeps attacking our strategic foe Russia there in Syria, but I'm sure it's none of our lads, and it seems too bush-league to be Israel. Weird.

What strategic threat? Is he admitting that the US is Netanyahu's bitch when it comes to middle east policy? Refreshing honesty at least.

No. This is the president's guy telling the world out loud what the US military is going to be mixed up in. No shadow. Either that policy is exactly what Trump wants or he is too weak to matter. Or he doesn't care, which is the worst possible option.

Where's ayatollah? Has Twelvebar ever made it over here? WVB? This isn't what I voted for Trump for. Big disappointment. Big, beautiful disappointment. These perpetual wars get tiresome.
