checked out because it is a fan favorite Jason movie. Not hard to see why. It has a more ironic tone, some memorable set pieces (the mobile home scene and the final boat scene come to mind), and more visual flair than usual for these type of movies. Interestingly that one of the more comedic Jason movies incorporates Dies Irae into the score. Also, Tony Goldwyn joins Kevin Bacon, Crispin Glover, and Corey Feldman as one of the few actors that appeared in a Friday movie that actually had a career after the movie.

I hadn’t seen many from this series, but this is the one I genuinely liked.

I'll always remember the Alice Cooper song on the soundtrack He's Back.

I’m not sure I’d go so far as to call it a good movie, but it’s the best of the bunch.
In addition to its self-parodic script and decent visuals, it’s a Universal Frankenstein tribute. The opening is pitched halfway between Ghost of Frankenstein and Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man, and the climax is cribbed from Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.

It's always been a favourite of mine of the series. Debatably the best. Matthews is my favourite Tommy and the film has a lot of wit.
