They've been stuck in a dark place of late and this comes through. I mean, it comes from a good place of caring about what's going on, but I do get the impression it's eating them up from the outside in.
Self-referential bits are redolent of John Lennon at his most indulgent (a la 'Glass Onion) but people do really dig that stuff in the meta-selfie social media era.
