Also, remember from β90s, βFreddyβs Nightmaresβ and βMonstersβ? They used to be on at stupid a.m. and Iβd have to set the video recorder to tape them. They were like anthologies so it didnβt matter if you missed the previous episode because it was a different set of stories each time.

I also know im in the minority. Its still a must watch Death of some salesmen, is beautiful. Split personality was also, awesome. I DID not like all through the house. I was a "dig that cat" guy This is an awesome list, I disagree with a few, par for the course, I Def recommend this list. Just because I agree and disagree with some, I still feel all these are worth a watch. Ps - I forgot people who live.. I don't even recall that. Thanks for that one! π»

I not only remember the tv series, I saw the movie in a theatre and owned several of the original comic books when I was a kid in the mid-fifties.
After 1954, all of the William Gaines comics (Tales from the Crypt, The Vault of Horror and others), and known as Entertaining Comics, or EC comics, were censored and banned because of a nationwide public outcry over their violent content. They disappeared from stores and the only way to obtain them was through the used book and magazine market.
Much of the uproar came after the publication of Seduction of the Innocent, by Fredric Wertham (1954) in which he warned of the influence of highly suggestive sex and violence in the comic book industry and the effect it was having on children.
The film version of Tales from the Crypt never captured the lurid artwork of the comics, despite some intense moments. The TV show, coming a few years later when there were fewer restrictions on cable tv channels was closer to the spirit of the comics.
Today those comics are worth a fortune on the Collector's Market. (If I had only known all those years ago!)
