So this is like, my fave holiday, this and the new year. I love it because it's about family and friends and just being together. I'm going to my brother's place. He puts on an AMAZING vegetarian spread every year, and bakes home made pies from scratch. Then I'm putting in an appearance at my bestie's place. Bestie loves to host and is also an amazing cook. She'll send me home with left overs whether I want them or not, lol. I'll snatch some turkey from her for my dogs.
I'm a little bummed because my daughter has Covid, so she and my grandkids couldn't come down like we were planning. Fortunately it's just cold symptoms and not serious, but I'm really missing them today. That said:
1) I'm thankful the pandemic is over, and we can enjoy Thanksgiving wirhout a huge to-do about masks, social distancing, Zoom dinners, yada yada. On that note I'm also thankful my daughter just has cold-like symptoms from Covid and not flu-like symptoms. I'm thankful Covid has weakened to the point where I'm not concerned about her ending up in a hospital.
2) I'm thankful for another Thanksgiving with my mom who was given a prognosis of a year to live three years ago. What a gift. My family in general is healthy, and my mom's cancer has made me appreciate that so much more.
3) I'm thankful for my best friend of 37-years. There is no replacing a relationship like that.
4) I'm thankful for my animals and their good health. They're my mental-wellness therapists, lol. I don't know what I'd do without my pups and tortoise.
And I'm thankful for YOU fine people! Thanks for the laughs and the fights over the years, guys. This place is kind of an Island of misfit toys, but I wouldn't have it any other way (or belong here, for that matter)! I know our international posters don't celebrate Thanksgiving, so just let this be an opportunity for me to say I appreciate our international posters so much. You bring so much to the table POV wise regarding politics. I've learned so much!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Love you guys! π₯°
