Obviously it's self-important dross, but you acting as if one pointless column invalidates an entire publication is a very juvenile and kneejerk reaction.
Stick to the the Daily Mail Fail comments maybe, it might be a more pleasant safespace.

I post a few, not all of them, and I do not invalidate the whole site, but sometimes it really lets itself down by putting this crap among seriously journalism. The Guardian is known to be the favourite of centre-left academics and intellectuals; they like to muse about stuff (like their vaginas) but are very sheltered and have no real clue about reality. They are grown up library dorks. |

The Mail is a trendy Blairite rag and the Mail and Express are staunch far right anti- immigration papers so together they cover the whole gamut of British politics given that there are no (real) left wing newspapers bar the Morning Star that obviously doesn't have the distribution or funds to compete. Apparently the young get their news from facebook anyway so they should just be shot and forgotten about. |
