Got banned in my school, we played it every day and it got rougher and rougher, after a few nasty knocks we were all informed in Assembly that it was a no no in future. Was great fun.

For a bit of time we adapted it to Zulu but for some reason it never became racial. We just loved shouting out ZULU! as we charged across the playground. |

We just stabbed each other for fun at school breaks. I woke up in hospital once after playing a chasing game in junior school. Managed to run smack into another kid and landed face first on something very solid. My mum said I looked like a boxer after a match. |

It was great fun when I went to high school, although we also sometimes called it Red Rover. The names were interchangeable. As an early developer, I often had the advantage of size and weight over many of my classmates... although not all of them. I was also able to pick up some of the smaller kids and swing them around like battering rams... great times! :D |
