With three rounds to go, the difference between #1 and #6 on the table is only four points. Palmeiras and Flamengo have 63, Botafogo has 62, Atletico MG 60, and Gremio and Red Bull Bragantino have 59.
At one point Botafogo was so far ahead that it looked like their first title since 1995 was all but guaranteed – but then they started losing and now need a combination of favorable results to win it. Realistically it will be between Palmeiras and Flamengo, which have been the most successful clubs in recent years, with two wins each in the last five years.

Botafago have averaged less than a point a game from their last 15 matches. Shocking stuff!

Only three points in the last five matches!
I am hoping they can snap out of it and win their three remaining games while both Palmeiras and Flamengo drop at least two points. I would much rather see Botafogo win than Palmeiras and especially those Flamengo bastards, who are determined to destroy Brazilian football by pushing for a bigger share of TV revenue, since they are the most popular club in the country.

It looks like it is not going to be all that suspenseful going into the final day. Palmeiras won and Flamengo lost 0-3 to Atletico at home, while Botafogo couldn't get the full three points against already-relegated Coritiba. So Palmeiras are three points clear ahead with a much superior goal difference, and will probably clinch it with a win on Sunday.

Botafogo fans must be fuming at the number of missed opportunities they've had to stay in front of the table in the past several rounds.
Two weeks ago they were playing Gremio at home, they were ahead I think 3-1, and then Luis Suarez scored a hat-trick. Botafogo 3-4 Gremio end result.

So it ends with Palmeiras winning the league for the second consecutive time with 70 points, two ahead of Luis Suárez’s Grêmio, fresh off a one-year stint in the second division. Botafogo, which had a considerable lead for most of the year, ended in 5th place.
At the other end of the table, Santos was relegated for the first time in their history. At least Pelé was not alive to see that. There are now only two teams, São Paulo and Flamengo, that have never been relegated.

17-year old Endrick was one of Palmeiras biggest stars. Look for him in Real Madrid colours for the 2024-2025 season.

I was going to say Jacqueline Carvalho and Keyt Alves both posted snaps of themselves on instagram in full Palmeiras gear captioned E Campeao Brasileiro so I figured it was time to put down the glasses so far as the title race was concerned.

Lost to a 96th minute goal scored from a mile out. Would have stayed up but for that.
