This series had potential. Both "28 Later" films were fun.
Some years ago, there were rumors about a DTV sequel starring Burt Reynolds.

A year ago, in November 2022 Danny Boyle revealed, that the script for the sequel, 28 Months Later, was complete and Cilian Murphy willing to return for the third movie.
However according to screenrant, from an article in July 2023, the movie will most likely be called 28 Years Later, and Alex Garland might be directing it. It doesn't seem to be confirmed though.

I could get behind an Alex Garland directed sequel. That could be very good.
