Yeah, thats what I thought, but I wasn't sure if it was part of a joke. I don't think that kind of language is used by a person that isn't racist.

Any hack comedian should be able to handle a heckler better than that. Even the all time greats got heckled. Either Richards thought it was 1924 and that would get a laugh or he had issues

He was in a comedy show and he wanted to provoke those people who kept interrupting him.
I honestly think he's not racist.

I forgot that the people he went off on might not even have been heckling him. They arrived late, had trouble finding their seats and distracted him. Standups have to deal with distractions all the time. I remember Howie Mandel doing a show and a woman got up to go to the bathroom. Mandel switched everyone seats while she was gone. The woman came back and couldn't find her seat. Howie started screaming at her to sit the fuck down so he could continue. The woman caught on quickly anf got a kick out of it. Howie didn't go on a maniacal tirade like Kramer did. That seem to come too easily

If that was what he was going for, it was an awful sell.

I think he’s chemically imbalanced, probably manic depressive, and he just went for the meanest thing his scrambled mind could think of.
If your go-to is racial slurs, you’ve got some racist thoughts, but I doubt the guy is a cross-burner or anything.

South Park used the word n***** 42 times in a single episode (S11 E1) and was praised for doing so. The episode was called With Apologies to Jessie Jackson.

However, it's true that Michael Richard went way too far and handled it on the worst possible way imaginable.
But I think he's not racist at all. He tried to be edgy and it backfired completely.

Kramer failed at Olympic Levels in this case.
