The way they saw off Barcelona really ups their ante for the title. Real Madrid still odds on favourites with Barcelona at 4s, Girona 5s. We were talking about this a couple of months ago - they're still going strong. But (I say 'but' because the following information kind of takes away some of the 'puppy love' that neutrals might otherwise have for them) they are part of the City Football Group which owns many clubs, the biggest being Man City. Some of the lesser ones include New York City FC, Melbourne City, Yokohama Marinos (formerly Nissan Motors FC) Mumbai City (a year after being owned they won the Premiership and Championship - whatever that is - in the same season, the first team to do so) CFG's most recent acquisition (well, 90% of it) is Esporte Clube Bahia, of Brazil, bought in December 2022. imdb2.freeforums.net/thread/330347/atl-madrid-3-1-real

Still want them to be champions though. Wonder what odds they were at the start of the season. Leicester were available at 5000/1 with some bookies.

*** Edit ***
Oops! My mistake. Bahia was close to relegation but escaped on the last day, with a one-point advantage over the 17th place team.
