Self explanatory short.

His response is completely the wrong approach. He's basically saying it's impossible to get rid of plastic. A smart person would agree it's a good goal and start discussing how to achieve it rather than shutting the conversation down with a closed mind.
Problems never get solved if you approach them like he did.

But is wanting a less polluted world being entitled? Sure we’re essentially dependant on the material but there will eventually come a time when the effects of plastic pollution can’t be reversed and does the expert have a plan set out for that?

Going somewhat off topic, I have noticed that most plastics degrade over time whereas organic materials, not so much.
A small example, under the influence the of solar radiation, plastic ties I use in the garden disintegrate in a couple of years, while the organic string has lasted from the invention of organic string

We will start by replacing Monkey's environmentally destructive bike with something more in tune with his eco warrior beliefs

I think the problem is that plastic and rubber disintegrates into very small non biodegradable bits and bobs which can then get eaten by wildlife.

And being very small, they past through the wildlife the same way the gravel and other crap does and has been doing since we have had wildlife.

Yes, you are. The first step on any road to recovery is admitting to your self-delusions. Congratulations.

Pauls is lives in the American south and is content with her 40 acres and mule shit pies for Christmas, hence her ever increasingly incomprehensible posts.
But she is content with her life, which is just as well because things are unlikely to get any better for her
