I feel that things are just mediocre these days. From medicine, law, police, traveling or even going to the movies.
It’s like everyone is hammering it and professionalism is out the window.
Anyone feel like this?

I guess it feels like the early phase of a new century, though the stages we've been experiencing (so far) were arguably way worse a hundred years ago (there's still time). Also, the need for change, green industrialisation, rapid automation, different working practises etc. still feels in its (relative) infancy while special interests are always in play. Tobacco smokers today can bubblegum vape so anything's possible.

A lot of things feel inconsistent. Too many moving parts moving on their own instead of as a unit is creating confusion. Nothing seems in sync anymore.

Nepotism and mediocrity are celebrated.

I think we've all lived under the assumption things were once better than they really were.

I’m superior, so most everything else is a mediocrity to me.

There's an official word for it. Enshittification. Anything that was good once inevitably gets the soul sucked out of it by the demands of the market.

I think we've all lived under the assumption things were once better than they really were. Yes, I remember how disappointing the 70s, 80s, 90s, etc were compared to the previous decades.

No, in fact I think one day we will look back at the early 2020's and think "That was the Golden Age".

Maybe, it could always be worse though. Just go to some parts in Africa or other developing nations. Hell, even some parts of America itself
This is how it starts though. Things are too good, complacency settles in and things go down. It's the cycle

I think we've all lived under the assumption things were once better than they really were. I guess it depends. Two things I feel are worse. Airplanes. I feel more uncomfortable now in planes than in the 1990s or early 2000s. The food and service is worse. Plus, they charge you for everything. Going to the movies. Seats are worst and the food is bad. I always loved going to the movies and getting nachos with cheese. The last time I went to the movies, I was given the most disgusting cheese I’ve had in a movie theater. It sounds silly and trivial, but these are just some things I feel show a certain level of decay.

Those plane and making movies are expensive items to operate and profit margins must increase every quarter or everyone gets in a tizzy.

It's not that everything used to be better in the old days, but at least everything used to be younger.
