UnAmerican sportrting highlights None of the US sports gripped me this year, 3 of my teams being hot garbage and the Cowboys perpetual stalling in the second week of the playoffs didn't help. US highlight for me was Australian Supercars champion Shane Van Gisburgen getting a wildcard into the Nascar Chicago Road Race and charging home to win from outside the top 10.

UnAmerican sportrting highlights It’s been a bit of “meh” year for US sports. The Super Bowl was a decent enough game, but the major talking point was a refereeing decision. The NBA was won by the most vanilla team of all time, and their star man is probably the most vanilla of the lot. The World Series was won by the team who lost the least, and was played between two small market teams with little, if any, of the storied history that makes MLB what it is. And, lastly, the Stanley cup suffered a fate similar to the MLB, except Vegas deserved their spot. However, it is incongruous that the Stanley Cup finals were played in June, in Florida and Las Vegas……
