No, thank you. I've been plenty responsible for my own reproductive health. It's really not that difficult. The pill and condoms have always done right by me. I know, it's not as dramatic as making it other people's concern, put aside the Supreme Court, but it works. Oh wow - so you have the power to prevent things like ectopic pregnancy and other abnormalities too? Cool! Have you never had sex? What absurd faux academic arguments/X posts you keep generating. Do you use a different word for condoms other than condoms?

Every method of birth control has a fail rate. None of them are 100% except abstinence So you can use your protection method, but it can screw up. The condom can break. Various medications can screw up the pill I mentioned my cousins movie night. That aunt ended up pregnant after the last boy died. People told her it was a gift from God. Then she wasn't pregnant. It was never said, but mom always assumed the aunt had an abortion because it was more than she could stand. Muscular Dystrophy runs thru the female line (or that was the science then-the 70s). So if it were a son, even odds he would have it & die before he could turn 20. But of course God would never do that! Obviously it had to be a girl! Who would have the chance of having boys with Muscular Dystrophy & die. It's not as simple as the anti-abortion side paints it. This is why it is between a woman & her personal belief in God. If she is good with it, you have no right to tell her she is going to hell for it. I used to vote Democrat. Then I realized I voted for Mr. Iran for POTUS in 2004 for little other reason than getting coerced into "fighting for my rights" when the Dems, in fact, do shit all for women and, like I said, I've taken care of my own body just fine without their help. I think you've been here long enough to have seen at least one of my " I've had more sex than all you nerds combined and managed just fine with condoms and the pill" threads. Admittedly, there were a LOT fewer posters here then, but the message is generally the same (minus the "combined" part). Who's sending anyone to hell? I'm a Jew. I simply no longer will be coerced to vote for dipshits who have gone from doing shit all for women to not even being able to define woman. And I agree with everyone who says Dems never made a move to codify Roe v Wade because they wanted to keep it as chronic votes-bait. That's the kind of "coincidence" that comes from party leadership. I was brought up in a republican household. Anti-abortion & all. Mom was sure Nixon got railroaded into resigning. I voted for Reagan the first time. By the second I realized he didn't give a shit about poor working stiffs like me. I agree with Groucho Marx I was crazy paranoid so I used a diaphragm, spermicidal creme, & the rhythm method. I think I maybe miscarried once. I was still using the pill then & was a week or 2 late & did pass something while using the restroom. So yeah. Stuff happens. They have all sorts of cool tests they can run now that reveal problems they couldn't catch back when my mom had 4 miscarriages. That Texas gal sounds a lot like my mom-wanted a large family, but had problems. Back in the 50s the rh issue was a thing. When I had my kid 30 yrs later, they had a fix for it. There are other issues, though. Why put the mother's fertility at risk for a fetus that is likely to die in minutes after birth? My dad was told the baby had to come out that week or they would lose the baby (me) & probably mom as well. Luckily it worked, even though I was 6 weeks early & was kept at the hospital for weeks. But maybe a woman, told the baby will have this or that, die gasping for breath within minutes of birth, or maybe live as long as a year, but suffer convulsions constantly so it would never be able to sleep properly? This decision should be for the woman. It's her body that suffers the consequences.

My wife and I chose a termination when she fell accidentally pregnant, we did the sensible logical thing, we couldnt afford to proceed with a second child due to housing reasons at the time and didnt want to fall into a cycle of benefits dependency it would have been very difficult to escape. It was a tough choice and agonised over, but it was the right one and I am proud we took it. We have never regretted it and luckily we live in a sane country where adults get to make adult decisions without the State dictating what they can or cant do with their own bodies. Why the US has decided to let religion take precedence over people's freedoms is something that wont end well. How many weeks pregnant was your wife when you and she made the decision to terminate the pregnancy? There are tests that can't be done until later in the pregnancy. So tuff luck, gotta give birth if a test at 20 weeks reveals the baby has no brain? Or maybe no lungs? The human body has so many moving parts that can go south. It's amazing so many turn out correctly.

Do you use a different word for condoms other than condoms? My paranoid self trusted my husband 2 or 3 times to use a condom as backup. Until I learned his trick was to dead weight while I tried to throw him off until something relaxed & I had to fish the damned condom out. Lot of protection that provided, didn't it?

If Sonja was still alive I would be reading this comment of yours out aloud to her about now. You are quite a character, but I am not sure I will ever think about fishing the same way ever again. On the other hand, I had to go down there and fish out a missing tampon twice. Once I managed to fish it out, the other time I failed to find it and a doctor had to fish it out - which he apparently did with some ease; of course he didn't use his hand. Sorry if that's too much information.

But condoms work!!!! I have heard stories of the other partner poking holes in them. Dont know if you have any experience with diaphragms, but they recommend checking them with each use (put water in it & see if it leaks.) Because they can wear out. And I read tales of spouses poking holes in them with needles as well. (Subscribed to 3 parenting magazines when my child was small) Stuff happens.

Sorry if that's too much information. I met him when he was 24. When he was 16 he had a motorcycle accident minus a helmet. Traumatic brain injury. Not that anyone on his side of the equation said anything about it. Stuff I learned after the wedding. But I came to realize in a lot of ways he was mentally 16 in his thought processes. So Romeo & Juliet passion? No. Maybe more Fiddler on the roof learned to care & I'm pretty sure the person he loved the most was himself.

😂😭 I know, right? And Brits say "fell pregnant". I can't. Apparently they also slip on that same sidewalk because it's just hosed down with... I'll stop. 😇 Every method of birth control has a fail rate. 100% provably false. Can't believe you wrote that seriously.
