If I had not had that abortion, Iβm pretty sure there would have been no Fleetwood Mac - Stevie Nicks

My wife and I chose a termination when she fell accidentally pregnant, we did the sensible logical thing, we couldnt afford to proceed with a second child due to housing reasons at the time and didnt want to fall into a cycle of benefits dependency it would have been very difficult to escape. It was a tough choice and agonised over, but it was the right one and I am proud we took it. We have never regretted it and luckily we live in a sane country where adults get to make adult decisions without the State dictating what they can or cant do with their own bodies. Why the US has decided to let religion take precedence over people's freedoms is something that wont end well. You do know itβs up to the states though, right? Abortion is legal in half the country.

That's fine. Adults making adult moves. I doubt she was going around saying "I'm proud of my abortion." I doubt more than 1 in a hundred thousand do, it's just that campaigners will always find that individual and try to make out that it's something more than a ridiculously extreme position which is where all these nonsense threads are born from. BOOM You got American politics. We are ruled by both extremes. Welcome to america!

So basically half the country dictates what women can or can't do with their own bodies, even when their health is in jeopardy, and you think that's ok?

If someone here takes the time and makes the effort to share a tough life story, just say you're sorry for their loss and move on. Do not be a fucking waffle just to kick someone while their down. So here's a story. My mom had 2 abortions. 1. She was raped The other was complicated She was pregnant, with a girl. It was premature. She got pregnant again, and couldn't go through with it. Trauma and shit. I know it haunted her.

I would guess a majority of the people who decide to have an abortion antagonize over it like no one's business. In the end it is their decision and they are the ones who have to come to whatever terms they might face. I'm not for kicking people when they're down especially after sharing something deeply personal. We're here for months, if not years, there will be other times to pick a fight.

This is how extreme they are on the topic. They completely miss that you can be pro-choice.......AND also acknowledge that the State's are deciding for themselves.
If so many of the pot people weren't so laid back, we'd likely hear similar complaints about all the States that have yet to 'legalize' it.

The other week at my recycling bin, the lid opened and out came Donald Trump, actually him, telling me to vote for him. Bizarre stuff. I just walked away.

It was a reasonable conclusion given your snarky comment to counter the comment about states not giving women control over their own bodies. So I then you are going on record to say that you donβt think itβs ok?

Technically it is a life changing decision just because having a baby disrupts everything. But most people have little to no regrets or conflicted feelings about the abortions they do get. The media likes to find the most sympathetic ones because it makes a good story. I get the reason they do it but I think they're doing more harm than good by framing it that way. It gives the right wingers more ammo when they throw up roadblocks to getting one. I don't see why anyone should be ashamed of it even if their only reason was "I had a drunken one night stand and don't want to be a parent."

I don't even want to know that, it is none of my business. That said, the idea most people don't have any or little regret after receiving an abortion, we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Is it because of your strong religious beliefs?
or, more as I suspect, merely the fact that you've got kids?

They've done plenty of surveys over the years. Obviously any individual person will handle it differently but the overall trend is very clear. This is just the first one that comes up in Google www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6386241/So it sounds like most people immediately know what they want and have no regrets, except maybe about the decisions or circumstances that got them in their situation in the first place.
