PDC World Championship 2024: Teenager Luke Littler beats Matt Campbell to reach last 16 www.bbc.co.uk/sport/darts/67830556Plays Barney next. Got to be the oldest 16 year old I’ve ever seen! TBH - I looked very similar as a 15-16 year old. Hopefully he’s not a flash in the pan. There have been quite a few ‘talented youngsters’ who have really failed to any sort of heights after a run at one tournament.

He looks like the "teenagers" played by 25 - 30 year olds in films.

A 9 dart checkout at age 14.
His opponent is absolute bobbins! Still had 442 left to make when the game was over!

Luke Littler beats Raymond van Barneveld: PDC World Darts Championship – as it happened The astonishing 16-year-old Luke Littler produced his best performance yet to beat Barney 4-1 and move into the quarter-finals Holy shit! www.theguardian.com/sport/live/2023/dec/30/luke-littler-v-raymond-van-barneveld-pdc-world-darts-championship-live?filterKeyEvents=false&page=with%3Ablock-659097618f08eff61a0b2d88Luke Littler's reaction Unbelievable. I just… I dunno what to say. I went 2-0 up, I went 3-0 up, then I said to my family, “Three legs away and I’m over the line.” And… I’ve done it. At the end he said, “You can go all the way, I hope you go all the way” and he said “thank you”. He’s a true gentleman, Raymond, and I respect him very well. [Have you pictured yourself lifting the trophy?] No. I just looked at the draw and saw Brendan [Dolan], then either Chris Dobey, who has the same management, or Rob Cross. I fancy myself, I do fancy myself. It’d be good if Chris and I could have a ZXF semi-final, but let’s just focus on Brendan. The crowd were unbelievable. They were singing Walking in a Littler Wonderland and Barney Army; they were on both our sides. I’m just so glad to get over the line. After I do all the media, I’ll see my family and chill out for a bit.

Luke Littler’s numbers tonight
105.01 average 50 per cent on doubles 9 180s 14 legs to Barney’s nine 16 years of age It’s almost impossible to overhype this kid. We’ve never seen the like.
Updated at 22.36 GMT 1h ago 22.23 GMT A word on Barney, who played a solid game throughout (average 98.64, 45 per cent on the doubles) and was admirably gracious in defeat. I’m not sure everyone would have taken it so well.
1h ago 22.21 GMT “How about them apples?” writes J.R. in Illinois. “After most of Littler’s visits to the board I found myself groaning salaciously then laughing. He doesn’t do the right things at the right times, he does the right things all the time. Mercy.”
His maturity is astonishing. Even not going for the bull when he had the chance to finish the match with a 170. Most 36-year-olds would have struggled to resist that temptation.

He's done it again!
Luke Littler’s darting fairy tale has continued at the Alexandra Palace with another stunning performance to demolish Brendan Dolan 5-1 and become the youngest ever World Championship semi-finalist.
At the age only of 16, Littler marked the start of 2024 with an utterly nerveless display to not only again average more than 100 but also deliver a flurry of breathtaking finishes to make his vastly experienced opponent look like the debutant.
Playing to relentless chants of “He’s got school in the morning” and “There’s only one Luke Littler”, Warrington’s world youth champion looked completely at home on darts’ biggest stage, interacting with the crowd and even accepting selfie requests from mobile phones that had been passed up from the crowd.
“If I keep it up, I’ve got a good chance,” said Littler. “I’m dreaming – I’m only two games away. I’m definitely thinking about lifting the title.”
Rob Cross, the 2018 world champion, now awaits in the last four on Tuesday after he staged one of the greatest comebacks in World Championship history to overturn a 4-0 deficit and beat Chris Dobey 5-4 in a deciding set tie-break.
